Bumble
Problem
30% of our population have experimented using a dating app or two in hopes to find a connection either physical or emotional, due to changes within society this is becoming an increasing reality for people to connect with others/ Majority of people will end up deleting their accounts due to not finding what they wanted to find on the app. This has resulted in dating apps receiving mainly negative reviews, 84% for Bumble alone.
Insight
Dating has become harder than ever in this society, as organically meeting people grows slimmer. However, research shows that connections grow at a faster rate when people meet naturally compared to meeting online. Due to characteristics not being hidden behind a screen, such as hygiene, mannerisms and voice which can be considered a deal breaker for 70% of people. As well as this progressing online can be met with slow replies, dry texts and waisted time.
Solution
People don’t have disposable time to waste therefore online dating/social networking needs to become more efficient. Introducing, Meet first Message later, allowing people to meet right after they match changing the norm for online dating to encourage purposeful swiping that can lead to faster developing connections. Using the Bumble app, people can swipe left or right on who they choose, when matched with someone they can either accept or deny a meet with the person they’ve matched with, if accepted they meet at a Bumble Hive located with the distance of the two people. Using the app again after their meet to carry on swiping or move to messaging.
