Ignite
Problem
Over the last four years art related education has seen a decrease in time teaching and funding. In November of 2022 it was announced that there would be up to £65 million worth of cuts to Londons art funding over the next three years, meaning children would see less of artistic teaching within their school curriculum.
Insight
Children aged between 11-15 are at an impressionable age where what they are seeing in and outside of school can impact their future careers and lifestyles. GCSE’s hold a high rank in importance at this age, where subjects in each schools curriculum get chosen and are taken with them throughout their lives. Seeing cuts in art education can hinder their exposure to the vast world of the arts.
Solution
Ignite is an arts festival giving children aged between 11-15 the chance to see and experience a vast range of artistic subjects that they are no longer to access through public school teaching. A festival full of artistic creations and visions to involve and excite kids into new interest and hobbies they can take away with them, for a brighter future in an artistic light. Ignite is all about encouraging kids to see a world that’s no longer being exposed to them.
